This year we have received funding to improve our well-being and fitness and to learn new sporting skills. We have a coach from Premier Sports that comes into school, during P.E. lessons, to teach Key Stage 1 ball skills and Key Stage 2 Gymnastics. This will continue for a term and then new sports will be introduced. This is a great opportunity for our children to learn and develop new skills and feel confident and competent in them. They also offer after school clubs at a small charge.
At Shavington Primary School we provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment in which we give children the best possible start to their education.

Photographs
Please be aware we cannot always use all our photographs from residentials as some children do not have consent to have images used on the blog.
Leaver's assembly
With tissues at the ready, we had our year 6 leavers assembly! The children put together a collection of memories from their time at Shavington Primary School and it was clear that they had enjoyed their time at school and had lots of fun! The children were presented with a dictionary, for them to keep, to remind them of their time at Shavington. Afterwards parents were invited to enjoy some time in their child's classroom with them and a delicious buffet lunch.
We would like to wish our year 6 every happiness as they continue their learning journeys at their chosen high school. Good luck and we hope they come back and see us and let us know how they are getting on.

Beach Day
As their end of year treat year 6 had a beach day on the school field! Fortunately the weather was gorgeous which enabled us to have paddling pools, sand pit, water pistols and a water slide. The children had a fabulous time and we played lots of games such as rounders, volleyball, football, boules.
Year 6 Prom
Year 6 had their end of Primary School prom at Wychwood Park Hotel. They were joined there by Wistaston Church Lane and Weston Primary Schools and they all looked beautiful in their prom dresses and suits. It was a gorgeous evening which enabled us to have some lovely pictures outside the venue. The children were then given the opportunity to have friendship photos as well as a group photo in the grounds. Thank you to Mr Capper for providing a quick turnaround of photographs!

Day 2 in Llandudno:
We woke up to a lovely sunny day and all enjoyed our breakfast.
Mrs Stirland came to visit us which was great. We caught the tram up to the Copper Mines and had a tour underground - it was cold in the mine!
We then had lunch and had a brilliant tour of the Great Orme with Sally who was very informative.
Back to the hostel for roast beef and Yorkshire puddings.
We went to the West Shore this evening before another trip to the chippy and then bed.
We have had a great day and are looking forward to tomorrow.
